Rians is a Provençal village in the Var, built in a spiral around the medieval Tour de l’Horloge. Between Sainte-Victoire and the gateway to the Verdon, among Coteaux d’Aix vineyards, it makes a warm rural base in the Provence Verte.
Rians sits in the north of the Var (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), at about 335 m altitude, on the borders of the Bouches-du-Rhône and the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. This large Provençal village climbs in a spiral around the Tour de l’Horloge, with medieval walls and towers still visible. The surrounding hills hold Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence vineyards; Sainte-Victoire, the Sainte-Baume and the Verdon lakes are nearby. Every year on the second weekend of October, the Fête de la Courge brings more than a hundred exhibitors and village festivities. The weekly market is on Friday morning on Place du Posteuil. A calm rural base for villa guests combining green Provence, wine country and heritage.
