Holiday homes in Pertuis

Pertuis is a Provençal town in the Vaucluse, a Sud-Luberon gateway between the Durance and the Luberon. With its medieval donjon, historic centre and Friday market, it makes a warm base for Aix and the Luberon villages.

More about Pertuis

Pertuis sits in the Vaucluse (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), between the Durance and the Parc naturel régional du Luberon. A Sud-Luberon gateway and the economic capital of the Pays d'Aigues, it has its feet in the Durance and its head in the Luberon, between Luberon and Sainte-Victoire. It is the only Vaucluse commune in the Métropole Aix-Marseille-Provence (Pays d'Aix). In the fortified old centre you find narrow streets, fountains and little squares, the medieval donjon (late 12th century, later a bell tower, Monument Historique), the church of Saint-Nicolas (15th-16th century, MH) and the Tour Saint-Jacques (14th century), the last square rempart tower. The Provençal market is on Friday morning. Local fruit, vegetables and AOC wines belong to the terroir; Ansouis, Lourmarin, La Tour-d'Aigues and Aix-en-Provence are close at hand. A practical, warm base for villa guests combining Sud-Luberon, Durance landscapes and Provence.
